Bobby Hundreds

Bobby Hundreds is an icon of the Los Angeles streetwear scene. Among many other accomplishments, he has designed streetwear worn by big-name celebrities, and he’s one of the sharpest writers on branding working today.

There’s a lot of Bobby content out there: interviews, essays, and books as well as designs, collaborations, and apparel.

His appearance on the Tim Ferriss podcast is a great entry point. He walks through his background and what his career has been about, dropping gems on branding and marketing throughout. You can watch it here (opens in a new tab).

Our favorite piece of his is an essay from his Substack, Monologue (opens in a new tab), called A Brand is a House (opens in a new tab). The premise: “Your brand is a house”, and how you tend it says everything about what you think of your work and how you treat your guests. When you eventually hand people the keys, they’ll show you exactly how you made them feel. We think about that framing a lot; it’s a great reminder of how sacred a brand really is, and a fantastic place to start mentally before any new marketing effort.

You can read the full essay on his Substack. Bobby is a source of inspiration to us, and we hope you’ll check him out thoroughly.

And if the essay gets you thinking about how your own house looks, that’s the kind of brand thinking our design team loves to dig into.
